Wet rainy weekend!!

Brody so far has had a great time with his cousins Domenic and Ethan. There father David had to work this weekend so Grandma and Grandpa were looking after them, which worked out really good for Brody as he doesn't get to much time to play with other children in his age range. It was so good to see them having so much fun playing in a make a cubby that we made up in the garage with blankets and sheets. They even made a cardboard box into a tunnel for their entry way into the cubby.

They have also played Wii, which they played dancing, Mario Karts and all sports. Grandma and Grandpa even had some turns. They have all eaten heaps with Grandma making hot dogs, pasta and pop corn.

Tomorrow will be much of the same, and try to have some sort of rest as Monday we have ABI and then clinic appointment it will be all rush again. Brody and i have really enjoyed having this week out of hospital, as after spending just over 2 weeks in hospital we deserve our peace and our life. xoxox

Normal week at home!!

Haven't done much this week, Normal routine stuff!!! Brody is eating more and enjoys playing with his cousins.

This video is off Brody and Grandpa playing his Bakugan's. He really enjoys playing with them and its been one of his obsession for awhile. Brody gets a bit ruff with grandpa sometimes, which we then have to take them off him. Thank you to everyone who has given Brody the Bakugan's as his case is now full. xoxoxo.

Good News at the clinic!!!

Brody's check up went well today, we didn't have to wait long and he was really well behaved. The doctor told us that from his lung biopsy they found that his pneumonia has cleared up and all it showed was that it is scarred. He will still need to be on meds to prevent it from coming back.

So good news again today, he still has that runny nose and a wet cough and gets very tired as he has slept for over 3 hours today. But otherwise he is doing well and is happy.

Grandpa's Birthday!! and Good News!!!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa!!xoxoxo

We had a busy day getting ready for Grandpa's little party with Domenic, Ethan, Uncle Dave, Grandma, Grandpa, Brody and i.

First we had our normal routine of doing our activities, we watched some Tv and tried to have asleep, but Brody was to excited that his cousins were coming and he wiggle and giggled all over the place. I forgot to turn of my phone and again we had 3 phone calls. One which we have been waiting for for 8 months.
The important phone call was from the testing place that tested Brody to see if he carried a genetic gene P53, which they believe was on my side of the family, due to my sisters and other family member's that had cancer. My family and i have been living in anticipation, fearing the worse as more members could get cancer and Brody could develop a secondary cancer from the radiation. Its been a hard 8 months thinking about the results, but the phone call brought good news that Brody is not carring the cancer gene, therefore our family has just got a run of bad luck and hopefully there will be no one else.

Grandma pick the boys up from school and Brody was so excited, they all played the Wii and DS.
We had a beautiful birthday dinner and a great birthday cake, with sparklers, disco lights and loud voices singing Happy Birthday. Brody drew a great birthday card for Grandpa and helped him open his present.

Early to bed now as Brody is really tired and so am I, Big day at hospital tomorrow for check up and hopefully good news about Brody's lungs. Fingers crossed xxxx

Home sweet Home!!!!

Back at Grandma's place and enjoying Grandma's home cooking, big bed, room to move, tickle times, long showers and all the day to day things. Its really nice to be out of hospital, but it really worries me how Brody and I will cope with beaning in isolation for up to 8 weeks?????

Brody is still doing really well from his lung biopsy and taking his tablets morning and night. He still has day sleeps every day and ate pizza and tonight had chicken and bun rolls, yummy!!!

Its Grandpa's Birthday tomorrow and Brody is looking forward to seeing his cousins and having a little party for Grandpa. Brody's going to make a big birthday card for Grandpa.

Thank you to Joshua, Zac and Holly for the bumble bee, power puff girls and the leap pad learning tool, as Brody has had so much fun with them. xoxoxox

Back to hospital on Tuesday for check up and get results from lung biopsy and see the occupational therapist for more ideas on how to help Brody.

Lung Biopsy!!!

Every thing went really well with the lung Biopsy today, the nurses in recovery said that he might be in a bit of pain and that the doctors can give him a strong pain relief or panadol. But Brody didn't even know what happen until several hours later, when he noticed the bandaide on his chest and the ink marks where the doctors drew lines. Therefore his pain threshold is still quite strong.

They have given us the ok to go home tomorrow morning, so we are busy packing all our stuff up again tonight. Yeah!!! Cant wait for a nice bed, home cooking and the rest.

We had a nice visit from a old school friend that i haven't seen in 20 years. It was a great visit, thanks Kylie. xoxoxo

Yeah!!! Might Go home this weekend.

Very busy couple of days, with Blood and platelet transfusions, meetings, tests and people coming in and out. Some days it feels like a circus, with so many different hospital people coming. There is no privacy or much time to just be by yourself. So when we get go home we just cant wait to be left alone by everyone. The funny thing is, even though you have all these people coming in, you still feel alone, and i think its because Brody and i are going through this battle alone, its not their battle.

Brody had a bone scan yesterday and today he had to have a finger prick blood test, which he wanted me to go first to see how brave i was. LOL. It didn't help, i had to hold him down. He has had this before and went really well, but i think he feels alot more now that his body has gone through so much, its become sensitive.

I had a meeting about LUke with Transplant team, but didn't find out anything except Brody's transplant will now be early July. 3 weeks before transplant we will be in isolation which means no visitors for this time and the time during transplant and 4 weeks after transplant. So it will be a very hard time for both of us.

Brody has his lung test tomorrow and if he is well enough after it, they are letting us home and Brody will go on tablets for his infection, instead of the drip. Its great news as we have been here for two weeks now, and need to have time at home before transplant starts. We will still be in for more test and check ups, but a least we can be home and do this we want. Brody aslo has a hearing test tomorrow, so another busy day, really warn out this week, its been the busiest week of them all.

Sorry the video is on the side. xoxoxox
